I am the founder of Exaltism. Ethan Tyler Reilly.
The story of my religious development is an interesting one. I was born and raised without religion, so it would make a lot of sense if I never followed any religion. Well, to be honest during my youth I usually considered myself an agnostic.
Gradually I started opening up to other religions, mostly because I discovered newer religions that seemed to have something special with them. Eventually my own spiritual path would open up too.
I discovered Unitarian Universalism just after high school and I was entralled with the concept. Respect for all faiths and opposition to fundamentalist behavior.
Later on I educated myself more on the Baha'i Faith. The Baha'is have something called progressive revelation, meaning all the major prophets are connected and are of the same divine source that is God.
Exaltism is a great deal part of my life too. But Exaltism is different in a way that it has become my nickname and merely a belief system rather than a religion. After studying Terasem I have realized that Terasem is the religion of Exaltism.
There is something that connects all these faiths together. That would be their respect to other religions. Omnism is not a religion, it is a mindset that allows people to respect and admire all religions.
A little known fact: I started a charter for a new faith called Syncretic Omnism during in my mid-20's and I had three people, myself included, since the paper.
I must have attended a dozen churches, joined a handful of religions and in the end what I realize is that all religions have some truth to them, but none of them hold the whole truth.
The same goes with me and my bias of Exaltism.
Therefore, while I'm still a Unitarian, a Baha'i and an Exaltist in the grand scheme of it I view my spirituality going forward as part of Omnism without any religion.
This website will still exist, but will be viewed as less of a religious website and more so as a personal credo of sorts.
My philosophy has always been centered around myself, rather than listening and understanding other people. This changes now.
My place of worship is anywhere. My scripture is any book. My charity is what I give back, to any organization. My ethics come from any religion, and my rituals come from my own habits.
This website is merely the attempt of one person to understand reality as it is. What I realize is everybody holds truth to some degree. Exaltism holds a very small part of that truth.
I will go to any place to worship, but I will not be the member of any particular religion. I will practice various religions but hold no specific religious view point. My world view is Omnism and I encourage others to understand other people as well as they understand their own viewpoints.
This is what Omnism means to me. There's many religions but one Omnism to try to understand them all.
